Illuvium Beta 4 and Token Distribution

The concept of play-to-earn has gained significant traction this year, yet Illuvium is set to surpass its competitors with a token distribution valued at more than $23 million! This generous allocation will benefit participants in the forthcoming beta release as well as those who have engaged with the Illuvium ecosystem.

The upcoming Illuvium beta 4 is making waves with its play-to-airdrop feature. Interestingly, distribution of tokens has started even prior to this release!

On April 14th, the Illuvium team captured a snapshot as a token of appreciation for participants actively engaged in the Illuvium network. This group encompasses individuals involved in staking within the ILV and Sushi liquidity pools, buyers of Illuvitars, owners of Illuvium Zero land, and those trading on the IlluviDex. A generous total of 50,000 ILV tokens has been allocated as rewards for these contributors!

Coming soon, Illuvium is set to launch a "play to airdrop" initiative coinciding with the release of Beta 4. This campaign will distribute 20,000 tokens during the testnet stage of the beta and another 180,000 tokens during the mainnet stage. The mainnet beta will be accessible to all participants.

Illuvium has set aside a total of 250,000 ILV tokens for these airdrops, which, according to my calculations, are valued at about $23 million! The specific date for the token airdrop has not been announced yet.

ILV serves as the governing token within the Illuvium ecosystem, enabling holders who stake their tokens to receive a share of the earnings from the IlluviDex.

Further Insights on Illuvium Beta 4

Beta 4 marks a significant milestone for Illuvium, anticipating the initial integration of its three existing games. The specifics of how this will be implemented remain unclear. However, it is evident that Illuvium is encouraging players to thoroughly examine these and other aspects throughout the beta stages. Therefore, expect that some of the airdrop rewards might be allocated to participants who identify glitches and contribute comprehensive feedback and testing.

Additionally, there will be ample opportunities for casual gamers to obtain tokens. If you're interested in participating in the initial airdrop stage, make sure to enroll in Private Beta 4. Sign-ups are currently open and will continue until April 30th. The testnet is scheduled to go live on that date for 10,000 participants. You can sign up using your Immutable Passport.

Illuvium is an expansive role-playing game set in an open-world environment, developed on the Ethereum blockchain and utilizing the Immutable X layer. In this game, players explore a diverse and extensive terrain to track down and capture mystical beings known as Illuvials. Players, along with their captured Illuvials, embark on a quest to uncover the mysteries behind the catastrophic event that fragmented their world.

The primary Illuvium game merges elements of an expansive open-world experience with aspects of automated battling and monster collection. However, the Illuvium universe extends beyond this, featuring Illuvium Zero, which focuses on constructing developments on virtual land, and Illuvium Beyond, a game centered around collecting and customizing profile pictures. These diverse Illuvium ventures are set to integrate with each other upon the release of their beta version.

Illuvium Overworld, an expansive role-playing game, showcases more than 100 unique creatures called Illuvials, each possessing distinct characteristics and abilities. Players can catch these creatures, enhance their skills, and merge two Illuvials to create a new entity. Illuvials can be stored on items known as Shards, which function similarly to collectible cards, encapsulating the core essence of an Illuvial. These Shards can be traded in the game's marketplace or exchanged among friends.

Illuvium features a dedicated trading platform called the IlluviDex, which acts as the primary hub for all transactions related to Illuvium. Additionally, Illuvium incorporates a governance system with a Council that undergoes periodic elections.

Yuga Labs Divests HV-MTL and Otherside to Faraway

This week, Yuga Labs unexpectedly revealed that it has sold the HV-MTL and Otherside brands to Faraway. With this acquisition, Faraway gains ownership of the intellectual properties and the majority of related NFT collections, and has committed to advancing the development of their gaming projects.

Faraway, originally known for their basic online shooter game, has successfully established a presence in the gaming industry. This presence is expected to expand significantly with the integration of their recently obtained intellectual properties, HV-MTL and the Otherside!

In addition to transferring intellectual property, there is also a shift in staff roles. Spencer Tucker, who formerly served as the Chief Gaming Officer at Yuga Labs, will take on the role of Chief Product Officer at Faraway.

Is Yuga Labs shifting its focus from web3 gaming? It's difficult to determine definitively. However, considering Yuga's limited involvement with both games so far, this strategy might ultimately benefit the gaming community. Faraway has already been active within the Yuga ecosystem, having developed the most recent iteration of Dookey Dash and started development on another project called Mara: Rise.

Faraway has quickly started making changes, unveiling new features for several NFTs within its linked collections. The HV NFTs, along with Kodas and Kodamara, will start to accumulate ‘points’, although the purpose of these points has not yet been disclosed. Additionally, the Koda collection will continue to be managed by Yuga Labs. Both Faraway and Yuga Labs have expressed that the ability for NFTs to operate across different platforms is a priority for them. However, the specifics of how they plan to implement this concept remain to be seen.

In this acquisition, Faraway has taken ownership of the subsequent NFT collections: HV-MTL, Sewer Passes, Otherside Vessels, Otherside Maras, Otherside Kodamaras, Otherside Ship Parts, Otherside Catalyst, and Otherside Partner Loot.

Yuga Labs recently launched Kodamara Fusion for Otherside gamers, enabling them to upgrade their Mara by utilizing Catalysts and Sediment Fragments.

What is Faraway?

Faraway operates as a game development studio specializing in web3 technology. They developed Mini-Royale, which is a quick, online first-person shooter that incorporates NFT integrations on the Solana blockchain. Additionally, they have developed Faraway Land, a game focused on constructing bases where players can produce items to be used in Mini-Royale. Faraway has also launched tools for creators, enabling them to design personalized skins and market them via the Faraway Shop.

Faraway has collaborated with Yuga Labs to reintroduce Dookey Dash and has developed Serum City, a digital realm for owners of Mutant Apes. Following their recent purchase of HV-MTL and the Otherside, Faraway is poised to significantly enhance their reputation in the industry!

Another Bitcoin halving brings with it another set of promotional cards from Splinterlands, this time featuring not one but two cards: Baron Fyatt and Henchling Enforcer. These exclusive cards are only obtainable during the event and will not be available in regular card packs.

The Baron’s Bounty event started on April 16th and is set to run for a total of 15 days. Available payment options for this event include Credits or Dark Energy Crystals, with the latter currently being the more economical choice. The cost is 31,250 per BCX for the Baron card and 3,250 per BCX for the Enforcer card, which translates to $32.50 and $3.25 in USD, respectively. Buyers have the opportunity to cut these prices in half by utilizing Vouchers. There's a 4% likelihood of acquiring a gold foil version with each card purchase. Additionally, buying 25 cards in a single transaction ensures the receipt of at least one gold foil card.

Furthermore, buying each promotional card earns points for a chance to win prizes in a lucky draw, such as out-of-print card packs, plots of land, and Runi NFTs, with the total value of the prizes exceeding $100,000. Moreover, the top 200 buyers will be awarded exclusive titles, and the top 20 will receive extra copies of the new promotional cards.

For individuals fascinated by the cards but not the random selection, these promotional cards can be found on peer-to-peer marketplaces at considerably lower prices.

Although Splinterland has recently overhauled its league and battle reward structure, the game continues to lose players. However, even with some complaints from the players, the recent sale has seen more than 2500 Barons bought within just a few days.

What is Splinterlands?

Progress continues on The Machines Arena, leading us into the open beta phase. The open beta for The Machines Arena is accessible to everyone at no cost and starts on April 23rd.

In addition to playing in a web browser, gamers can now engage on Android devices as well. The Machines Arena can be accessed via Epic Games or downloaded for Android from its official website. Player profiles are consistent across both platforms, and all players participate in identical competition environments.

The team behind Machines Arena intends to launch a play-to-airdrop initiative in the later stages of the open beta, though specific details have yet to be released. Players can anticipate leaderboards that offer prizes for active participation, achieving specific objectives within the game, and involvement in community events. Additionally, they are planning numerous updates that will introduce new skins, maps, mintable collectibles, and more.

Moreover, the open beta will introduce companions known as familiars, which provide various statistical enhancements throughout the game. Players will have the opportunity to obtain a complimentary set of three familiars for a short period during the beta phase. These complimentary familiars are exclusively virtual items. Additionally, there will be purchasable familiars available in the game's store, which can be converted into NFTs. To ensure fairness in competitive play, all familiars will offer identical percentage increases in Ranked PvP matches for every player.

If you participated in the alpha or beta versions and received unique skins, you can now mint these on the Ronin network. Skins for The Machines Arena can be purchased and sold on the Mavis marketplace.

What is The Machines Arena?

The Machines Arena is a dynamic, fast-moving, overhead-view MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) game where two teams, each consisting of four members, compete across different modes. Players engage in combat using a variety of weapons including firearms, laser beams, and flamethrowers, with the typical match duration ranging from 5 to 10 minutes. The game features a selection of ten distinct characters, each equipped with unique abilities, advantages, and disadvantages. These characters fall into categories like tank, support, and assault, emphasizing the importance of collaborative team strategy to achieve victory.

The Machines Arena wasn't initially conceived as a blockchain-based game. However, following their initial beta launch, they broadened their scope. These materials are subsequently utilized for construction and crafting. Players have the ability to set up crafting stations on their own property, which enables them to create stronger items.

NFTs in Worldshards

Currently, obtaining NFTs occurs by chance. They might be acquired through collection or by conquering foes. What is Worldshards?

Worldshards is an expansive, fantasy-themed MMO game featuring sandbox elements, available in both traditional web-based and blockchain-enabled formats. Set in the mystical realm of Murlandia, composed of various hovering isles, players engage in combat with creatures, enhance their abilities, and occasionally tackle puzzles or seek diplomatic resolutions to fulfill quests.
